10 Reasons For Video Marketing

Did you know that video drives around 90% of internet traffic?

It's true.

However...even though this is true, many companies still shy away from using this powerful marketing tool.

Usually this is because of either:

a) They don’t think they have the budget

b) They don’t have any ideas on what to produce

c) They don’t have any equipment and/or time to do it


The truth is, there are a lot of tools out there to be able to produce your own videos. Although a professional video would look better, it really doesn't have to be.

Just use your phone (providing it records decent quality videos), and use apps to edit them. There are plenty of apps out there to be able to do this.


I'll give you 10 reasons why you need video to promote your business:


1. THEY HELP CUSTOMERS UNDERSTAND YOUR PRODUCTS OR SERVICES

It's easier to sell your products when you have people in your store to view your products, but your website is your online version, and images just don't explain much about what it is you offer.


That’s where video makes a difference, as it gives you the opportunity to explain things the same way you would in the store. You can showcase your products with text, voice-overs, or you could appear in your videos for that personal touch.


2. THEY CREATE SOMETHING MEMORABLE

Around 80% of people remember the video ads that they see online. You can't say that about every blog or social media post you seen...can you? Chances are, the answer is no.

Okay, you may need to get a little creative, and if that's not you, hire someone who is. Like me :)


3. THEY MAKE PEOPLE WANT TO BUY FROM YOU

You’ll need a strong marketing plan – and you’ll want to include video in that strategy.

More than 40% of people buy from a company after watching a video.


4. YOU CAN REACH ALMOST EVERY DEMOGRAPHIC

When it comes to most online marketing methods, you have to cater your strategy based on the age demographic you’re trying to reach. Different age groups seem to sway towards using different social mediums.

Younger people sway more towards Snapchat and Instagram, and women more towards Pinterest. Facebook is kind of mixed, and YouTube is for everyone.

So with this in mind, you can use your video links to reach many different demographics


5. YOU CAN ENGAGE WITH MOBILE USERS

Nowadays, most people look at their phones than at their computers.

If you think about when you watch TV, and the adverts come on, what do you do? More than likely check your social media on your phone.

Desktop users tend to only stick with a video for about two minutes or less. Mobile users, on the other hand, have an attention span of 2.4 to 5 minutes, depending on the device.

With that in mind, business owners should always have a website that's mobile friendly.


6. THEY ARE MORE PERSONAL

People buy from people. Fact.

Put yourself in the video and it becomes more personal to your viewer.

Use this medium to portray you and your business. You'll see the benefits soon enough.


7. YOU GET HIGHER RANKINGS ON GOOGLE

YouTube is the second largest search engine in the world. And even better... It’s owned by the largest search engine in the world, Google.

Your videos can help your website get ranked highly for keywords that you’d never be able to achieve through traditional SEO (Search Engine Optimisation). Your 'keywords' can be added into the video, and be used as a backlink to your website.

8. EDUCATE CUSTOMERS ON VARIOUS TOPICS

The best marketing campaigns don’t sell products and services all of the time, because nobody likes being sold to.

So that's why you need to come up with something that actually interests the audience.

The same goes for videos.

Educating your audience on a subject can soon make you become known in an industry.

So, for example if you sell websites, it would be easy to keep producing videos about web design, but you should also branch out, and create how-to videos that reach into the broader topics of websites, like SEO and hosting.


9. YOU CAN CREATE A BRAND THAT PEOPLE LIKE

At the end of the day, video marketing is all about branding. You can build a strong brand using other methods online, but you'll soon find that using videos is a much easier way to reach people.


10. IT'S EASY TO SHARE

All you need is a link and you can text it, WhatsApp it, post on social media, or even email it.

The more you share it, the more clicks you get which means more traffic to your website.
